Through the Energy and Environment Innovation Program, Alberta Innovates - Energy and Environment Solutions encourages all applicants to work collaboratively, such as in university/industry partnerships and industry consortia. Grants will typically be over $50,000 for one year projects, to millions of dollars for large, multi-year pilot and demonstration projects. Alberta Innovates - Energy and Environment Solutions also supports individual inventors with smaller grants intended to help inventors gain assistance with engineering designs, building prototypes and getting patents. Inventions should have the potential to make a significant impact on the energy industry and have an industry supporter.
